New Moon Ritual: May 2025

I finally had a chance to jump back into my New Moon Dream Divination ritual this month, at least in a way that I could share publicly. The last couple of months have been a bit hectic in my personal life but things have settled down a bit.

To be honest, I was surprised by the message that came through this month. That message is:

Do not let your passion blind you in the current fight.

Passion is fine. It fuels us. Our anger at the injustices around us keep us from becoming desensitized. But we’ve all had those moments where our emotions can run away with us and keep us from thinking things through or making the best decisions. These strong feelings can serve as blinders, keeping us from grasping the larger context of a situation or identifying dangers that may surround us.

Additionally, sometimes our passion manifests like a terrible explosion. It is massive, bright, but short-lived. It burns through us, leaving us depleted and exhausted. We need to remember that what we are up against is the culmination of a decades-long project to rollback progress, decency, and human rights. We are not living in a YA novel or summer blockbuster movie. This will not be solved with one decisive victory. It will take at least a generation to regain what we have lost while also setting up the bulwarks and infrastructure to maintain our momentum.

So, let your passion fuel you but do not let it overwhelm you. Do not let it control you. Do not let it exhaust you.
